About Us
Innertoob technology started out as something quite different than its current form. Early in January 2006, Daniel Nelson and Carter Harkins (that’s me) got together, along with our wives, for dinner. Conversation was animated as we all listened to an idea Daniel had been thinking about since returning from a recent business trip. And being the inquisitive idea guy that I am, I was very interested to hear about it.
For days afterwards, the two of us kicked around the thought of partnering to develop the product, but as we continued to discuss things, the product concept started to change. During several meetings over the phone and in person, a new, powerful and exciting idea emerged. Innertoob, though it was still nameless at the time, had been born.
Little did we know that this technology of ours would find uses far beyond the initial plans we had for it.
Within two days of launching Innertoob, we had some of the largest names in podcasting calling about what it was and how they could get it. Podcasters from every field have introduced us to new possible uses, from education, training, music collaboration, to purely entertainment: Innertoob is at the crossroads of all of them.
Since those amazing first days, we have begun to license the core Innertoob technology in managed installations for private clients. We are very excited about some of the opportunities that are presenting themselves here.
In January 2007 we released an additional social application layer which surrounds the contextual commenting system we first devised, working to give the system itself more context and creating a richly interactive, social media sharing site. This new system is part of our ongoing deployment strategy, and an example of it can be found in our newest site, CrowdAbout.us, a “conversational podcast community”.
We are always open to new ideas and partnerships. Please contact us if you’d like to learn more.
