See? Even O’Reilly is not immune to “Forest-for-the-Trees” syndrome…

My last post, which outlined an embarrassing faux-pas wherein we completely overshot on how many people understood what we were doing, was hard on my ego, to be honest. It’s not fun admitting you didn’t get it right. And then I read this today, and while I don’t feel any better by seeing someone else’s similar mistake, it does help illustrate the point that sometimes we need outside perspective in order to understand what it is we are doing.

When someone holds up a mirror for us to better see the obvious things we can’t see, it’s sometimes painful, but ultimately it’s a vital service to clarity and understanding. Often on BOTH sides of the mirror.
