ToobGroups

Interactive podcasting (or Toobcasting, as we call it around here) has really begun to catch on, but we are still hard at work, inventing the future of the genre, and building the tools that will make it possible.

We’ve been hearing from many of you that you’d like to be able to open up your toobs to other people at various levels of access. Some of you want to turn the time-posting over to a certain group of listeners, or in some cases, make your toob a “free-for-all” where anyone can say anything anywhere in the toob, without having to create an Innertoob account.
Cool ideas, and we have seen the collective wisdom in such a collaborative-use design. We’re calling this feature “ToobGroups”, and we hope you’ll dig it. (or Digg it!)

Thanks again to Daniel’s hard work, we are unveiling ToobGroups tonight, and even as I write this, Daniel is uploading the changes to the server and taking them live. When you wake up in the morning and start your podcasting day (or if you’re like me, it will be sometime after a hard day’s work and about a gallon of coffee), you’ll notice some cool new features when you log in to manage your account:

ToobGroups

You can now create up to five different ToobGroups, and set access levels for each. Then, when you are creating a toob, or logged in and viewing one you’ve already created, you can assign one of these ToobGroups to the toob, and the settings will take effect immediately. See the Help Section for more information on these settings and how they can be used.

Play Preview and Nudge Left/Right Buttons

We’ve also added some cool tools that will help you get your time-post exactly where you want it. When you create a new time-post, there is a play button for previewing the place from which the post will start. If you didn’t get it exactly where you wanted it, now you can nudge the start time of the post either left or right by a fraction of a second. Just use the nudge buttons before submitting the post.

Form Based Player Login

And last but certainly not least, we have moved the log in to the frame below the player (where the ads appear). By doing this, your browser can now help you remember your log in information.

Well, we can’t wait to hear from you about what you think of ToobGroups! And be on the lookout for more new ideas soon.
